Malawi and Porridge

Comments: none

World Porridge Day” is on the 10th of October, and the charity Mary’s Meals is using the occasion to fund-raise and increase awareness of its work in support of education for children in Malawi.

First Minister Alex Salmond MSP joined a group of Scottish school pupils today for a porridge breakfast, and there will be events around Scotland this weekend.

Kingussie High School in the Highlands has a video clip on YouTube explaining its fund-raising Porridge Assembly held in 2009 to support their partner school in Malawi.

Hundreds of Scottish schools have a partner establishment in one of the African nations, and these relationships can contribute greatly to education for Global Citizenship.
