Jacqueline Wilson will be giving a live talk with the Scottish Book Trust and BBC Scotland Learning between 11.00 and 11.40 on Thursday the 27th of January. Please sign up here if you will be watching through Glow.
Even more excting news – Jacqueline has agreed to take part in a Glow Chat after the live streamed event! The time will be 13:00 – 13:30 (subject to Jacqueline finishing her signing session at the BBC).
To take part, you need to be able to use Glow Chat – Please try to join the Glow Chat room on the event page well in advance of the day to make sure you get a successful connection. If you have any trouble, email Katie from the Glow Team on k.barrowman@ltscotland.org.uk as soon as possible before the event and she will advise you – you must do this well in advance, as you may be advised to contact your local authority to enable chat and this may take a few days!
Due to expected high demand, we ask that only one computer per class is logged into the chat, (by the teacher preferably) but the pupils can take turns asking questions, just remember to type in your name, class and school at the end of your question. We realise that the time of the chat may coincide with lunchtime, but we hope a lot of Jacqueline’s fans will still be able to log on.
The more interesting and unusual the question, the more likely it is that Jacqueline will answer it, so get thinking now! Jacqueline will answer as many questions as she can on the day, but she won’t be able to answer everyone, so apologies in advance.
We hope you can join us!

Thursday the 17th of June is a fantastic day for book fans on Glow – in the morning, you can watch Michael Morpurgo’s live stream (in association with BBC Scotland Learning and the Scottish Book Trust), and in the afternoon you can tune in to ask the Scottish Book Trust’s Writer in Residence, Catherine Forde, any questions about her work!

You can sign up to watch on the BBC Website by clicking this link, or you can also watch the live stream through Glow by clicking here to go to the Authors Live Glow Group.
Catherine will be live on Glow Meet at 13:30 PM. Click here to sign up to take part!
Please visit the group to sign up for the event. There will be the opportunity to test your access to the Glow Meet before the event – go to the group for details.
The event is suitable for secondary school pupils
Catherine Forde has been writing novels with teenagers as the central characters for over a decade. Most of her novels are contemporary and Glaswegian. In a previous life she taught English in secondary schools and colleges and edited dictionaries. Catherine likes to explore the relationship between teenagers and the adults in their lives, and her writing is colloquial and dialogue-driven. Recurring themes in her novels are the influence and impact of music on the individual, fitting in and fractured relationships.
What a day for book lovers! Sign up now!
